International Product Compliance

Clarify applicable export requirements, technical documentation, testing needs and application steps for CE, EAC, FCC, FDA and CCC based on the target market.

Match the product, reports and destination market before shipment

Sales may receive a customer request, engineering may hold the design version, and quality may keep the test reports. Export preparation often starts by connecting these records. Captain International helps confirm the product to be shipped, sales markets and the roles of each party, then organizes applicable requirements and document responsibilities.

If reports already exist, list the models and versions they cover and note later design changes. This comparison helps determine which existing evidence may be used and which tests, documents or application steps still need review.

These are entry points for different markets. A product may face several requirements at once. Consult the official basis and assess the specific case on each service page.

When to start an assessment

  • This is a first export and a customer requests a certificate, declaration or test report.
  • An existing product will be sold in another country and new requirements need to be checked.
  • Components, firmware, intended use or branding have changed and the documents may need updating.
  • An OEM or ODM project involves several parties and applicant, manufacturer and data-provider responsibilities need clarification.
  • Documents are spread across departments and it is unclear whether reports cover the current shipment model.

Possible project deliverables

Deliverables may include a product-and-market assessment summary, applicable-requirements list, document-gap register, test-coordination list, application-data compilation and follow-up maintenance items. The actual scope is agreed based on the product and engagement. Authorities, laboratories and certification bodies remain responsible for their own reviews and test results.

Information to prepare for an enquiry

For an initial discussion, prepare a one-page summary answering these four questions. If information is not yet confirmed, note the responsible contact and expected confirmation date.

Complete drawings or confidential information can be shared after both parties agree on a transfer method.

Frequently asked questions

Can a report for one market be used in another?

First review its covered models, test methods, versions and acceptance conditions. The report may then be assessed as evidence for another market. Reusing documents can reduce repeated preparation, but it does not mean that one market's procedure replaces another's.

Can you quote a price and completion date immediately?

The product category, number of models, available information and need for testing or third-party review must be confirmed first. Product changes or requests for additional information may affect the schedule.

Can management-system certification replace product compliance?

They address different requirements. List organizational management requirements and product requirements separately, then identify procedures and records that can be shared.
